Char Dham Yatra is a popular pilgrimage, or tirth yatra, in Hinduism. Our 11-night, 12-day Char Dham tour package allows travellers to take this once-in-a-lifetime holy pilgrimage in Uttarakhand. This Char Dham itinerary begins in Haridwar and takes pilgrims to four sacred sites in Uttarakhand: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Also known as the Chota Char Dham of Uttarakhand or Char Dham of the Himalayas, these four pious sites in the Garhwal region hold great spiritual significance among Hindus.
Day 1: Haridwar
Arrive at Dehradun airport or Haridwar railway station, pick up and drive to a Haridwar hotel, check-in, and relax. In the evening, visit Har Ki Pauri and enjoy the Ganga Aarti during your overnight stay in Haridwar.
Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot (210kms/7-8hr) HT : 1352 MTS.
Drive to Barkot via Mussoorie; en route, visit Kempty Fall (it is suggested to have your lunch at Kempty Fall as no good restaurants are available before Badkot). Later, drive straight to Barkot; en route, visit Lakha Mandal Shiv Temple.
( The Lakhamandal Temple is thought to be the home of wax that Duryodhana constructed in order to murder the Pandavas. The Pandava Gufa ("Witness the Pandavas exit plan") cave on the road is part of a cave system near the settlement. According to legend )
and transfer to your Hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and store your energy for the Pahad (Hill) Yatra of Yamunotri the next day. Overnight stay at Barkot.
Barkot Weather:- Generally pleasant in summer, the temperature ranges from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. In winter, the days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold; the temperature ranges from 10 degrees to 05 degrees.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri – Barkot {36kms drive & 5 kms Trek (one side)} HT : 3291 MTS.
Early morning, Drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti; the trek starts from here to Yamunotri (6 km). Either by walk, by horse, or by Doli at own cost. The trek passes through a lush green valley, a profusion of conifers, rhododendrons, cacti, and several species of Himalayan shrubs.
Distance:- 36kms drive & 5 kms Trek (one side)
Day 4: Barkot to Harsil (158kms/5.5hr) HT :1352 MTS.
Drive to Harsil; en route, visit Vishwanath Temple & Others. Check-in Hotel. Rest day at leisure. Night Halt.
Harsil Weather:- Generally, summers are pleasant with a moderately cool climate; the temperature ranges from 18 to 30 degrees Celsius. Extreme cold in winters.
Distance:- 158 km
Time:- 5.5 hrs
Day 5: Harsil to Gangotri to Harsil (25kms/ 1 Hrs each side) HT : 3048 MTS.
Early morning drive to Gangotri; en route at Gangnani, take a holy dip in GaramKund; further drive to Gangotri. On arrival at Shree Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges, which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, and after that, relax for some time in the lovely surroundings.
This evening, visit the beautiful Harsil Valley. Harsil is famous for its natural beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains, sitting on the banks of the Ganga. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Harsil.

Day 6: Harsil to Guptkashi (250kms/9hr) HT : 1319 MTS.
Drive straight to Guptkashi via Moolgarh & Lambgoan. En route, you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. The Mandakini River comes from Kedarnath and drives alongside the river to reach Guptakashi. On arrival, Check-In at the Hotel, and in the evening, visit ArdhNarishwar Temple. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath (30kms by road & 19kms Trek)
The morning after breakfast, depart for Kedarnath Dham. Enjoy Kedarnath Darshan. Overnight stay at Upper Kedarnath and return the next day.
The morning after breakfast, drive to Gaurikund and start your trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (by Pony / Doli / Helicopter at your own cost). Visit Kedarnath Temple. Overnight stay at Upper Kedar. The next day, after the Temple Darshan, trek down to Gaurikund and later drive to Guptkashi. Overnight stay at Guptakashi.
By Helicopter: In the morning, our driver will transfer you to your pre-booked Helipad. You can inform the driver about your next day's arrival time by helicopter or by trek so that the driver will be there to pick you up. (Note: helicopter ticket is not included in this package).
By Trek: In the morning, our driver will drop you off at Sonprayag, then you have to take a local jeep for Gaurikund, & then your trek will start for Kedarnath Ji. It’s a 19 Kms trek one way. On arrival at Upper Kedar, check in to the guest house, relax for some time, and then, after freshening up, go for Kedarnath darshan. Overnight stay at Upper Kedar.
Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name for Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas, after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty for having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and, while fleeing, took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed, he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar, and his locks (hair) with the head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.
Kedarnath Weather: Due to its high altitude, the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most months of the year. The summer here is cool and pleasant, while the winter is severe. During the summer season, the temperature varies around 20°C. Light woollen wear is recommended. The Winter season in Kedarnath is severe, with the mercury falling to as low as 0°C. During this time, the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by tourists.

By Trek: Today, after Morning Darshan, start your return journey by trekking to Gaurikund and Sonprayag. On Arrival at Sonprayag, our driver will pick you up and take you to Triyujinarayan Temple for darshan. After the darshan, check in to the Guptkashi Hotel.
By Helicopter: Today early in the morning, start flying from Kedarnath Helipad to your Lower Kedar Helipad, and from there, Our driver will pick you up and take you to Triyujinarayan Temple for darshan. After the darshan, check in to the Guptkashi Hotel.
Triyujinarayan Temple: Triyuginarayan Temple is a Hindu temple located in Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is dedicated to the god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of god Shiva’s marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue, and it is thus a popular pilgrimage centre.
Day 9: Guptkashi to Chopta to Tungnath (48kms by road & 8kms Trek both way)
Meal Plan:-Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, drive early in the morning to Chopta, known as Mini Switzerland. It will take 1 hr to reach Chopta. Check-in at the hotel, and after refreshments, start trekking to Tungnath Temple, the highest temple of Lord Shiva. The trek is about 3 km from Chopta. Pay your respects at Tungnath temple. It is also known to be a Dwitya Kedar (Second Kedar), it is one of the Panch Kedar. Furthermore, if possible, trek 1 km more to reach Chandrashila Peak or the summit. You will witness a 360-degree panoramic view of Snow covering the Himalayas. Return to Chopta. Overnight stay in Chopta.

Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the Rudraprayag district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tungnath (literal meaning: Lord of the Peaks) mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. It is located at an altitude of 3,690 m (12,106 ft) and just below the peak of Chandrashila. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata epic.
Day 10: Chopta to Badrinath (148kms by road)
Early morning drive to Badrinath. Check in to the hotel on arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims, after having a bath in the Taptkund, have the Darshan of Badrivishal and Aarti in the evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh's ancestors (Pitrus). Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Badrinath, one of the ‘Ancient Four Dhams', is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots in the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 metres, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan, with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri Van,", meaning "forest of berries".
Tapt Kund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple.

Day 11: Badrinath to Joshimath to Rudraprayag (160kms/7hr) Height: 895 MTS.

After breakfast, go for another interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund, and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within three km of Badrinathjee.
Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.
Vasundhara: As the name suggests, Vasundhara is a magnificent waterfall. This place is 5 km from Badrinath, out of which 2 km is motorable upto Mana.
Bhim Pul: On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge lies over the roaring Saraswati River. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.
Vyas Gufa (cave): Near Mana Village, this is a rock cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the Pauranic commentaries. Badrinath Weather: The average maximum temperature will be around 18°C, and the average minimum is 8°C. Warm and woollen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snowfall. Winter is very chilly, with an average temperature of 5°C. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually closed to tourists.
Then drive for Rudraprayag via Joshimath. On the way, visit Narsingh Temple in Joshimath and later drive back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Check into the hotel on arrival in Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.
Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the four ‘Maths’ established by Adi Shankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township. The most important is the temple of Nir Singh, with the idol of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity is getting destroyed with time, and the popular belief holds that the day the arm completely withers, Badrinath Valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighbouring Niti Valley at Bhavishya Badri.
Rudraprayag Weather:- Generally hot in summer, the temperature ranges from 35-40 degree Celsius, Winter: The Days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold, temp ranges from 20 deg to 05 deg.

Day 12: Rudraprayag to Haridwar (165kms/5-6hr).
Meal Plan:- Breakfast,Dinner
The morning after breakfast, drive for Haridwar Later, transfer to Haridwar Railway Station / Dehradun Airport. Tour Terminate.
Distance:- 165 Kms
Time:- 5-6 hrs
Tour ends with sweet memories.
