Overview
Govindghat is beautifully situated at the convergence of the Rivers Alanknanda and Lakshman Ganga, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The place is located at a distance of just 22 km from Joshimath on National Highway 58. Govindghat is widely famous for the Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers. Thousands of Sikh pilgrims visit the pious Hemkund Sahib around the year.
Trip Outline
Day 1: Deharadun – Joshimath ( 300 Km )
Pick up from Dehradun airport or railway station way to Dehradun to Joshimath check in to Joshimath hotel take dinner and overnight stay in Joshimath.
Day 2: Joshimath – Ghangharia - Valley of Flowers – Ghangharia ( 16 km trek )
Early morning packed breakfast and check out the hotel and go to Govindghat helipad to board your chopper to Ghangharia. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and go for the Valley of Flower trek. Valley of Flower one-way trek is 8 km, ie 5 to 6 hrs total time for a return to Ghangharia. Overnight stay in Ghangharia.
Day 3: Ghangaria – Hemkunt Sahib – Ghangharia ( 18km trek )
Early morning trek for Hemkunt Sahib Darshan. One way track is 9km; return ghangharia. Over night stay in Ghangharia hotel.
Day 4: Ghanghria – Govindghat – Dehradun ( 300km )
After breakfast check out of the hotel and proceed to Ghanghria helipad to board your chopper to Govindghat, On arrival proceed to Dehradun airport or railway station or your onward journey
